Dr. Juan Ruiz-Alzola is a Professor of Imaging Technologies in the Department of Signal and Communications at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, and a Research Affiliate at the Canary Islands Institute of Astrophysics. Dr. Ruiz-Alzola is passionate about science, technology and innovation, and their application to sustainable economic growth, job creation and quality of life improvement. He is theMACbioIDi2 project coordinator, with partners in the Canary Islands, Cape Verde, Mauritania, Senegal and the United States. Dr. Ruiz-Alzola serves as an advisor to the NousNav team on affordable technologies for African countries.
